Boys at Church

A photographer’s focus at a Quinceanera should mostly be on the young lady transitioning from childhood to womanhood at her fifteenth birthday celebration. This particular celebration began with a religious ceremony and continued with a lavish ball – very similar to a wedding, in terms of the planning and expense that went into it.

I had to turn away from my focus to shoot these boys. Not only had three of the four in the photo been angling to get photographed, they also wanted to show off their bad ass expressions while dressed in their nice suits and hats. These boys are among several of the young males in the life of the young lady.

While I certainly am glad to have gotten this shot, I would rather they had listened to the powerful delivery and message being given by the minister!
